Cool Sippin’ Recipes for your Myrtle Beach Vacation

Chauncey Smith   |   01 Jun 2020

As you plan your summer vacation to Myrtle Beach, there are plenty of things to look forward to. From checking out the attractions of Broadway at the Beach or the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk to playing a round of golf at one of the dozens of Grand Strand golf courses, your options are endless! But sometimes, at the end of a long day, nothing beats kicking back on your balcony with a frosty drink in your hand, watching the gentle waves of the Atlantic Ocean roll in. Here are a few fantastic drink recipes to mix up on your next vacation to Myrtle Beach.

Dole Whip Lemonade

Myrtle Beach is technically an island (well, a man-made island at least), so inject some island vibes into your vacation and blend up a few servings of Dole Whip Lemonade! This chilled delight combines 1 cup lemonade, 1 cup of frozen pineapple and a ½ cup of coconut milk blended together to yield four servings of a frothy treat that will satisfy everyone from kids to grandparents. Be sure to grab some maraschino cherries for a perfect garnish.

5-Calorie Raspberry Lime Margarita Fizz

Looking for a low-calorie treat to keep your figure while on vacation? Then look no further than these low calorie spins on a classic margarita! Simply combine four ounces each of raspberry-lime seltzer and sugar-free margarita mix in an ice-filled glass. To add an extra splash of flavor, garnish with fresh raspberries and lime slices. Of course, this recipe can be tweaked to work with virtually any flavor seltzer or fresh fruit, so feel free to make it your own!

Watermelon Sangria

Summer is the perfect time for fresh, juicy watermelon, and this delightful watermelon sangria is sure to be a great evening cocktail for the adults. Make sure to prep it in the morning so it has plenty of time to chill!  It all starts with 9 cups of cubed watermelon, pureed in a blender until smooth. The juice should then be strained and poured into a large pitcher. Next, combine ½ cup of simple syrup (½ cup of sugar heated and dissolved into ½ cup of water), 1 cup vodka, 1 750mL bottle of dry white wine and ½ cup of triple sec into the pitcher. Finally, add 3 more cups of cubed watermelon along with fresh blueberries, lime slices and orange wedges to the pitcher and mix, giving this lovely libation an additional fruity zest.
