Keep Your New Year’s Resolutions During Your Myrtle Beach Vacation

Chauncey Smith   |   15 Jan 2020

We’ve just crossed into a new year and that means that many of us have made resolutions to try and better ourselves in the coming 12 months. Whether that means eating better, exercising more or just finding our zen and de-stressing, the new year brings a great sense of optimism for setting and achieving goals and improving our ways of life. And just because you have a vacation to Myrtle Beach planned doesn’t mean that those New Year’s resolutions fall by the wayside! There are plenty of great ways to keep on track during your Myrtle Beach vacation. Here are some tips for maintaining your New Year’s resolutions while on your Grand Strand getaway.

Eating Healthy

Look, we’re not here to tell you that you have to load up on bean sprouts and tofu during your Myrtle Beach vacation. A small cheat day (or two) won’t destroy your plan to eat better, but it’s important to stay the course, especially right at the beginning of the year! Luckily, Myrtle Beach offers plenty of great restaurants that present diners with delicious, fresh and healthy options to enjoy. Bay Naturals is a popular lunch and dinner cafe that has an extensive fresh and healthy menu that features a number of vegan and gluten-free options. Located at 7611 N Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach, signature menu items include their sockeye salmon burger, smoked potato burrito and avocado grill sandwich. A rotating menu of fresh soups is also available as well as amazing smoothies and blended drinks. For a great dinner, try Sobaya Japanese Bistro, located at 3950 St James Ave in Myrtle Beach. A tremendous assortment of authentic noodle dishes are available, all composed of fresh, perfectly cooked ingredients. Popular menu choices include yakisoba noodles (cabbage, carrots, onions, kikaruge mushrooms, choice of pork, chicken or shrimp), sapporo miso ramen (shrimp, corn, nori, fishcake in spicy red miso soup) and jabchae (Korean-style sweet potato noodles with thinly-sliced beef, shiitake mushrooms, bell peppers, spinach, carrots and onions). Dinner is served Tuesday through Saturday at Sobaya from 5 PM to 8:30 PM.

Working Out

Sure, relaxing is a key part of your Myrtle Beach vacation, but as fitness enthusiasts know you never feel better than after getting your day started with an energetic workout. Luckily when you book your Myrtle Beach vacation with Beach Vacations you can choose from many fantastic properties that feature well-equipped fitness centers. Our partner resorts like Myrtlewood Villas offer gyms with a great selection of treadmills, exercise bikes, strength machines and free weights to get a sweat going. At properties like Myrtle Beach Resort, basketball and tennis courts are available for some friendly competition, and at Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort guests have access to bicycle rentals. With many of our Myrtle Beach resorts located oceanfront, you can always rise with the sun and enjoy a relaxing jog along the Atlantic shoreline. Outside the grounds of your resort, the city of Myrtle Beach offers several recreation centers that are open to visitors for a nominal daily fee and offer amenities including indoor swimming pools, jogging tracks, gymnasiums and fully-equipped fitness rooms.

Wave Goodbye to Stress

We could all use a little less stress in our lives, and Myrtle Beach offers plenty of fantastic ways to kiss those everyday worries goodbye. A massage is always a great way to melt away any anxiety weighing you down, and area spas like Majestic Massage and Day Spa, Awaken Your Senses and Bliss Therapy have experienced massage therapists and tranquil environs that are sure to leave you calm and refreshed after a session. If you’re a little stiff after a round of golf a deep tissue or sports massage is perfect to loosen things back up. Or if you’re traveling with your sweetheart a couple’s massage is always a fantastic way to bond and relax on your Myrtle Beach getaway.

Whatever resolutions you’ve made for 2020, be sure to add one and treat yourself to a weekend getaway (or two, or three) to Myrtle Beach! Or, since it’s so tough to experience all the Grand Strand has to offer in just a couple of days, plan an amazing weeklong Myrtle Beach vacation! Beach Vacations has the premier vacation properties to help you enjoy an unforgettable trip to Myrtle Beach.
