Upcoming Summer Festivals Around Myrtle Beach
Summer in Myrtle Beach brings a plethora of great events and festivals to check out during your vacation. On top of all the year-round attractions along the Grand Strand, these celebrations provide even more reasons to book your Myrtle Beach vacation if you haven’t already. Here are a few of the best upcoming festivals around Myrtle Beach.
Sun Fun Festival 2021
Like many events, the Sun Fun Festival was on hiatus in 2020, but looks to make a big return to the Grand Strand on June 4-6 right in the heart of the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. Nightly entertainment takes place on the stage at Plyler Park, with the smooth sounds of R&B and beach music provided by Too Much Sylvia, the Tonez, Vocal Edition and the Swinging Medallions. The festival also features a parade down Ocean Boulevard on Saturday at 10 AM. Following the parade, families are invited to check out a sand sculpture contest on the beach in front of the Boardwalk.
Myrtle Beach Water Lantern Festival
Taking place on Saturday, June 12th, the first annual Myrtle Beach Water Lantern Festival looks to be a celebration of love, hope and happiness. Attendees are invited to write and draw special messages on floating water lanterns that will be cast out onto the water of the picturesque ponds of the Market Common. Admission tickets include one lantern for guests and additional lanterns are available for purchase. Following a fun day filled with great food and craft vendors and live music, the lanterns will set sail upon the water after the sun goes down, providing a memorable experience for attendees.
2021 Conway Riverfest
Just inland from Myrtle Beach lies Conway, home to a charming downtown and riverfront district. This area will host their biggest annual celebration as the 2021 Conway Riverfest returns on Saturday, June 26th. Lasting all day from 11 AM to 10 PM, the Riverfest will have a plethora of activities to entertain guests of all ages. A large arts and crafts expo and a live music stage will be located along Elm Street, and a large kids zone offers pony and camel rides, games, inflatables and much more. The Riverfront Park hosts the main entertainment stage, with live music and a beer garden open from 3 PM to 10 PM. A huge fireworks display will cap off the evening at 9:30 PM.
