And while there's plenty of fun to be had on the beach and around the Grand Strand, one of the craziest events is taking place inland in the Carolina Forest area with the fourth annual Dirty Myrtle Mud Run. There is a huge buzz surrounding the opening of the brand spanking new North Myrtle Beach Sports and Parks complex, which took place earlier in the week. The facility kicked things off with the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic softball tournament, featuring 17 teams from several states. The six total baseball/softball fields accommodate several games at once, and there are also eight batting cages available. Multiple area soccer teams also made great use of the eight soccer/lacrosse fields at the facility.
